Summary: This year we continued to offer the entrepreneurship seminar first started in 2013-2014. The seminar is held over a 3 week period on Saturdays from 8-12. The training offers guidance in starting a business and various aspects that challenge a new business owner. Students included small business owners, those aspiring business owners, and High School Students planning their futures. This was an opportunity for Rotarians to share their vocational expertise to help other achieve their dreams. Twenty-two Rotarians, all tried and tested business owners/entrepreneurs and several inspirations speakers volunteered their time this year. Students heard from experts in areas across the business spectrum that included: The Mind of an Entrepreneur, Commercial Loans, Print Media/Web Advertising/Local Papers, Expenses, Leasing/Location, Networking, Personal Appearance, Selling Your Company, Commercial Insurance, SBA loans, Cash Flow, Contracts, Marketing, Permits and Licenses, Alternate Working Capital, payroll, benefits, workers' comp, and human resources. We also provided an open forum for the students to discuss specific obstacles they have encountered. In return for our efforts we ask the students to participate in a charitable event. This year Class was invited to attend a fundraiser for Lionheart School held at VINO. We hope to inspire those attending the seminar not only to be successful in their business aspiration but to remember to give back to their community with their thinking, time, talent, and treasures. We plan to continue this program and as it grows see more and more successful entrepreneur who will become community minded people and possibly Rotarians.
