Summary: Alpharetta Rotarians joined the Windward-Milton Rotary Club in support of their District Grant to Stop Hunger Now. The Meal Packing Event includes Interact students, Milton business owners, Milton staff and Milton firefighters packing 10,000 meals in 2 hours. It was an immensely fun, hands-on and rewarding experience for everyone. Stop Hunger Now meals are nutritiously sound. Every dehydrated rice/soy meal is fortified with 23 essential vitamins and nutrients. This event addressed the problem of hunger. Hunger is the single point where we can leverage relief for all humanitarian issues. For example, delivering meal with the essential vitamins and nutrients that can provided a hot meal during school gives parents an incentive to send their children to school. Through receiving a primary school education, the cycle of poverty can begin to be broken by leveraging change in many other issues including education, maternal health, childhood mortality, gender equality and combating HIV/AIDS. Organization like Stop Hunger Now require that our in-country partners to report on the impact of the shipments they received.
