On a beautiful Saturday morning in November, a group of 13 volunteers, made up of Alpharetta Rotarians, family and Rotaract members (high school students) joined together to help Lionheart School with their fall clean-up project.  Lionheart School, located in Alpharetta, provides a developmentally appropriate education for children who need a specialized learning environment, therapeutic interventions, supported social interactions, and strategies to accommodate their individual profiles.

Lionheart Gardens is located in Canton, GA.  This is an organic farm that provides a therapeutic horticulture program for the Lionheart students.  The volunteers created raised beds for fall planting a garlic crop, worked weeding long beds of newly planted carrots and beets that are ready to harvest.  Kirk Driskell, Alpharetta Rotary President said, “Lionheart School provides an important resource to the Alpharetta community.  Again, I am proud of our Club, the Rotaract members, and family members who took time today to give back and support Lionheart in their efforts.  Another great example of the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.”
