The meeting highlighted our focus on the club’s involvement young people and was organized by Youth Services Director, Mary Ulich. Stand Up for Kids-North Fulton Initiative was recognized for their effort to help at risk students complete high school. Aid is offered through mentoring, a monthly stipend and a post high school “Dream Trust”. SUFK Director Sue Levine accepted a $1500 donation from the club presented by Mark Spiegel and Cookie Haynes, Community Service Director.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
The newly installed Interact Club officers from three of the four high schools we support were recognized. They represent clubs from Alpharetta, Milton, and Independence High Schools.
A framed replica of the 2014 Mayor’s Challenge logo was presented to Mrs Georgann Delling. The event this year was run in memory of her late husband, Hank, who had been an Alpharetta Rotarian for many years. 

Continuing the theme of youth involvement, Capt Richard Valone of the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety spoke on the dangers of distracted driving. Emphasis was focused on the distractions of texting and cell phone use while driving. 
 
Alpharetta Rotarian Rory Young announced a future Rotary wine tasting event at Total Wine. Three bottles of wine were raffled off at this meeting. Similar raffles will be conducted at future meetings leading up to the event. Please see future bulletins for the date and time.
