The objective of this project is to provide the medical devices required to provide essential newborn and child health interventions in Quevedo, Ecuador. Improved access to these devices in Quevedo will increase the quality of care, and strengthen health care system for the area. The goal of this project is to reduce the neonatal infant mortality rate.

The Rotary Club of Quevedo has been supporting and sponsoring the Maternity Hospital of Pedro Martinetti Navas for almost 20 years through its Children in Hands Rotary Foundation and provided the initial neonatal medical equipment. The current inventory of medical equipment has reached the end of its useful life and has become undependable. This project would replace that initial equipment.

The Quevedo Club has worked with the hospital staff to list the most critical items needed to provide the safest healthcare for infant childen. The provider of the equipment, Omnimed, will provide the necessary training for the updated equipment. Alpharetta Rotary is committed to raising $13,375 to fund the project.
