This Week

Our speaker this Friday is Kathi Cook, Community Development Director for the City of Alpharetta. It is an exciting time for our City, and Kathi will give us an informative overview of what's in process and what's the works.  You will not want to miss it! We will also be inducting new member, Heather Terry, taking two of our members from Red to Blue, and introducing our 2017-2018 Board. Dan Merkel will announce an important new Rotary initiative in partnership with Alpharetta Public Safety. And of course - the Best Breakfast in Alpharetta.

New This Week:

Backpacks to NFCC - We need Rotarians to help deliver backpacks to NFCC after our meeting on Friday. We are scheduled to be there at 9:15 for pictures and presentation. The pictures will look better with you in them!

Mickey Rogers and Randy Schiltz are leading a Rotarian work crew Wednesday 8:30am-1pm at the Wills Park Rotary Pavilion to begin improvements.  They can also use some help next Wednesday, August 2nd, to complete the work in time for the Old Soldier's Day picnic - and that includes a new grill to compliment the talents of Grill Master, Steve Gillard.

Reminders:

Member Directory - Important - Please update your Club Runner member profile asap! Everyone received Mike Lowery's explaining how to do this, so please retrieve it from your inbox and take a few minutes to complete the process. This will save Rob Johns a lot of time in putting a Member Directory together for us. Clark Savage will be taking headshots for everyone on August 4th and 11th.

Old Soldier's Day is Saturday, August 5th - Calling all hands for one of our biggest Club events of the year, and one for the whole family.  Look for an email from Steve Gillard for more detail.  We will need help decorating our float, Rotarians and family to ride on the float, and everyone to join us for a picnic afterward at our newly improved Wills Park Rotary Pavilion.  What a way to celebrate! Special thanks to Joel Canada for, once again, taking point on this event!

Mary's Ice Cream Crankin - mark your calendar for Sunday, August 27th for this fun, annual event at Roswell Square Park supporting The Drake House.  More details to follow!
