Recent media releases about Alpharetta Rotary
and our great work in the community!

The Alpharetta Rotary Club members have been giving back to the community in many different ways that contributes to the economic well-being of our citizens. The Club donated $3,000 to Senior Services of North Fulton. These dollars will help with their mission to care about older adults, their quality of life, independence and continuing potential; they build programs, services, and relationships to meet the needs of this growing population; and they serve the community by empowering seniors, assisting families and enhancing lives. Their programs include Meals on Wheels, Care Management, Transportation and Operating Senior Centers in Alpharetta, Milton, Roswell and Sandy Springs, providing a home away from home for hundreds of citizens each week.

The Alpharetta Rotarians gathered to assemble bags filled with food and then delivered them to Dogwood Terrace for all the residents to help celebrate the holidays.  A Rotarian dressed as Santa and his helpers visited all the floors in the complex to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and to give them the bags of food from Rotary.

Another fun deed from Alpharetta Rotarians was taking the time to serve the Alpharetta Public Safety employees lunch at their annual holiday luncheon.  The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety has had an annual lunch together to celebrate the holidays and this year is the first time they had the opportunity to sit down together and enjoy their meal without having to serve themselves.  The Alpharetta Rotarians took on the duty of serving the food and drinks to them so they could actually enjoy their own celebration.

One other kind act by Alpharetta Rotarians included providing lunch to youth in the Stand Up for Kids Program. This organization’s mission is to help with teen homelessness. They advocate for young people to have the basic human rights of shelter, food and security. The Alpharetta Rotary Club is a supporter of this organization with donations and they provided a lunch for them during the holidays.

The Alpharetta Rotary Club has a group of volunteers who keep Old Milton Parkway clean throughout the year by participating in the Adopt a Mile Program of the City of Alpharetta. This group of dedicated volunteers was out on the street in early December on a Saturday morning picking up trash and keeping the City beautiful.

Alpharetta Rotary President, Kirk Driskell, said, “I am so proud of our club.  The Rotarians in our club enjoy giving back in many different ways and that is what makes our club special. Each person in the club has a different passion and that makes them be involved in our clubs civic activities and in turn we do great deeds for our City, our residents, and our organizations and we do it all with a smile!”
